Rangers keep up work to protect African wildlife despite pandemic…

Wildlife Rangers are often referred to as being the front line of conservation. They are continuing to ensure that parks and wildlife remain protected despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to COVID-19 many rangers and guides have been sent home as the sudden halt to tourism has meant salaries cannot be paid in the conservancies where they work. While jobs are promised when the time allows most are struggling to survive. Those who are not at home remain in their posts, protecting wildlife and the communities that surround it in a time when poaching is on the increase due to the COVID-19 situation.

Throughout Africa hotels and lodges have closed and are not expected to reopen before the end of 2020. Incomes have dried up and there is a growing temptation to poach to provide food for families and for economic gain.

This project aims to help those who are facing financial hardship and support them through these difficult times. With your support, they can continue to build future where animals and people thrive. Will you join us?
